Classroom Management
My classroom rules are very simple.
We are here to learn, anything beyond that has no place in the classroom.
We are here to help each other grasp some very difficult concepts that are designed to help you to be successful in your high school career and your future endeavors, anything beyond that has no place in the classroom.
We are here to support and respect each other, anything beyond that has no place in the classroom.
We will be completing a classroom policy together during the first week of school. Once we have completed it, we will save it to Schoology so that you and your parents will have a digital copy.

Grading Policy
Most of our reading will be done inside the classroom. Students are expected to come in prepared to discuss, respond, and evaluate what we have read. It is very important that we do our class work together so that we can peer grade and have immediate feedback on specific issues like character analysis, plot diagrams, and reading and writing strategies. Because of this, most of our "homework" will be done in class. If you find that you just can't get it done, then you will have the option of taking it home, but it must be turned in the next class day. You will have two projects to complete this year - one this semester and one next semester. These projects will be revealed closer to the semester final. There will also be one book report due per semester that will be done using a book that we will read as a class. Grading for these particular assignments will be given to you in writing and kept in your binder for reference.
Any homework missed due to an excused absence will have three days to be completed, after the third day it goes down to a 70%, and after the fourth day it is a 50%. Anything after that will be counted as a 0, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Please know that if you are struggling with a concept that you can come to me immediately, I am here to help you work it out!
